OUR PASTOR
The Reverend Valarie D. Oliver is an ordained minister. She earned a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) degree from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in 2012. She served in the traditional Baptist church for 8 1/2 years as an Associate Minister. Pastor Valarie is also a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) serving Baton Rouge and surrounding areas.
Pastor Valarie believes in ministering to ALL who come. "You cannot degrade people and invite them to Christ at the same time." First Liberty Church welcomes all, including the LGBTQ community. The Pastor takes a stand for Social Justice and Liberty for ALL. The Word of God is preached from the Holy Bible as her Biblical studies have so carefully prepared her, and continually prepares her to do. Our interpretation of Scripture does not condemn individuals because of who they are or who they are attracted to. Our job is to share the love of God with those who come.
We will equip the saints for works of service so that the Body of Christ may be built up.
"Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus" (Romans 8:1)

MISSION
Through Jesus Christ, First Liberty Baptist Church will evangelize the lost, minister to the hurting, disciple believers, and equip the saints.
Jesus Christ is reaching the world through First Liberty Baptist Church by the power of His Holy Spirit and His Word. First Liberty Baptist Church accepts, affirms, and welcomes the LGBTQ community. We are a church where there is no condemnation for anyone who is in Christ Jesus. (Romans 8:1)
VISION
OUR CHURCH
Everyone is welcome at First Liberty Church. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, age, height, weight, physical or mental ability, or any disability. We allow individuals the freedom to express themselves as they identify themselves. We believe in Love and Fairness toward ALL without judgment. For God is Love.
Jesus is Lord here. We believe Jesus Christ died for the sins of the world. We believe the Holy Bible is God's true Word. The Holy Bible is our guide. We believe in God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
"God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth" (John 4:24).
